Seriously!
Day 2 of too much ice on the road to get out.
Tomorrow will most likely be day 3.
Wahoo.
The not being able to get out is driving me crazy.
I was going to drive to Wal.mart earlier...it's only a few minutes down the road. I thought, "Why not?! If I go slow and steady then I'll be able to get a movie, snacks, wine.." You know, the basic winter survival tools!! ;)
But I'm smart so I went to check out the driveway. If it wasn't so bad then I'd go. So I went to check it out and almost slipped on my face.
Needless to say I did not go.
The only thing keeping me sane is that my dh is here with me.
Until tonight, then even he will be out! Police officers work no matter what.
What's a southern girl to do?
I give major props to you ladies that experience being trapped inside because of ice and snow.

This northern girl is feeling the same way. Two days working from home because of ice covered roads is making me stir crazy! Hang in there, it's got to get warmer, eventually!
ReplyDeleteoh my, I am going stir crazy in this hotel room!!! I wish you were nearby so I could..umm...walk over carefully? haha as I was writing this I realized that we couldn't get to each other unless you were staying in this same hotel. ;) oops. I work from home so I'm used to getting stir crazy somewhat frequently - but this is the worst!!!
ReplyDeleteHope you get to go out soon and do something fun :) Stay warm!
ps - I love that quote hahaha
ReplyDeleteEven this winter-nerd Midwestern girl is getting a little stir crazy! Of course it doesn't help that I've been stuck at home with a stir-crazy 4 year old who's only been to school about 5 days in the last 3 weeks!
ReplyDeleteI do have to say that I'm loving the snow, but I'm Canadian! I put on my snowpants today and lay in the glorious snow!
ReplyDeleteI hope that it calms down so you can get some provisions!
I know. We do not do well with ice, snow, and being cooped up. Love the quote.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel too bad about being "Southern." :) It seems that some southern states often get more ice than snow... snow is a lot easier to drive in than ice (well, you know, depending on some other factors too :)). I hope you can get out and about soon!
ReplyDeleteNot sure where you live, but we are dealing with day three of the affects of any ice storm that came through this week. Roads are horrible and are driveway is covered in 5 inches of solid ice!!
ReplyDeleteDonna-I guess it doesn't matter where you're from-being stuck somewhere for days is not fun!! (sounds like a poem...haha!)
ReplyDeleteMary-cabin fever has hit pretty hard so I would have happily walked over to your hotel-if it was close enough! ;)
Nicole- I'm sure the dynamic changes with a little one that age! It's def tough being cooped up!!!
Jellybelly-I love the snow also, although we don't really see much of that (except for TODAY!!) because ours is more ice than snow!
Sarah-EXACTLY!!!!
Julie-I live in the dfw area! This weather is crazy!!
ann-as a southerner also, I know you feel my pain!! ;)
