A few simple things that made me smile today...
This stuff smells amazing! It's my favorite home fragrance at B&Bworks. The oils really leave the place smelling great and super fast!
I don't know if anyone else likes to vacuum as much as I do...but I really like to! It's because of these beautiful lines in the carpet! I'm a weirdo but I really do enjoy seeing those lines...
I got my screen fixed today by my friend and I am soooo thankful that he was able to do it free of charge! Then I went with my brother to get one of these nifty cases, since I have a tendency to drop my phone more than the average Joe. Another great thing, my bro gets a 50% off discount at A.T&T stores...wahoo! :)
These things are awesome! What are they you ask? They are a new sort of bobby pin! You twist you hair into a bun and then twist these little suckers in! I have long and thick hair and they actually work. Plus it's nice because they don't really leave a line in you hair. (I sound like a commercial with all these "things" that I love...oh well, might as well because I'm a sucker for them!)
And last but most certainly not least: spending the entire day with my hubby before he had to go into work.
Okay, I know this post is sort of boring, kinda like my other posts have been recently but it's sort of part of my "cherish the simple things and love the simple moments" in life sort of mindset I have been having. I think because I know that my surgery is going to be next month I am trying to calm down, be at peace and trust God. Who knows, tomorrow I may be a hot mess...but for now, I'm relaxed and looking forward to what God has in store for us.
"A smile is the beginning of peace." (Mother Teresa)
Oh my gosh!! I have never seen those twisty hair things, but now I MUST have them! Thank you!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd by the way, I love the quotes at the end of your posts!
Ohhh need to try those hair things too! Where did you get them?
ReplyDeleteI'm a nerd too and love home fragrances and vacuum lines...haha...you're not alone! :)
I enjoy vacuuming too! So, when my vacuum for lack of a better term stopped sucking effectively...I was pretty forlorned. I told my husband about it and he thought maybe the canister was full (we have a bagless vacuum). Well, it wasn't, I had checked - it was clear as can be. No luck though, the vacuum was still running but not picking up much. Finally, a couple weeks agon on the morning of the baby shower I was hosting at our house - I asked Mr. B to vacuum the living room and stairs - hoping we could still get some dirt up. (We have a cat too, so that makes things interesting.) In no time, my husband also realized the vacuum wasn't working properly and proceeded to take apart the vacuum (with a screwdriver) - in the kitchen no less and worked on it for about an hour. The culprit - a plugged filter that neither of us knew even existed. He extracted the filter and took it out to the garage and proceeded to clean it with an air compressor (I didn't even know we had an air compressor). He reassembled the vacuum and an hour later I had my beautiful vacuum lines again and the full canister full of cat hair and junk - although gross - was a sight for sore eyes! Just in time too for the shower! Oh, the joys of a good vacuum!
ReplyDeleteThe neat twisted things are from Target and I think you can get them at Super Walmart also...I'm sure since they are new that sooner or later they will pop up in drug stores (like CVS, etct...)
ReplyDeleteAnd I love hearing that others like the lines as much as I do! Like I said...it's the simple things! :)
And JBTC-your story literally made me laugh out loud!!!! Go your husband for figuring it out!!
I'll be going to Target and looking for the twisty hair things. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteNot boring at all! You crack me up with the lines in the carpet! I love seeing them too, but we don't have much carpet here.
ReplyDeleteThose twisty things for your hair are awesome! I definatley have to get some! :)
I brought those hair twists today at target. You are right- they are amazing!!!! I love my bun right now! My hair is long and thick also so I was skeptical, but they are totally working! Yay! Thanks for the recommendation!
ReplyDeleteHmm i was wondering if these things really work, picked them up and looked at them but put them up. Now I might have to give them a try, my hair is really heavy I have to use A LOT of bobby pins to even stand a chance at my hair staying up. Just found your blog!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Barbie! :) And I hope the hair things work for you!!
