I heard back from PPVI with my labs and they want me to continue to use the suppositories and injections since it was in a low zone 2.
But then, the nurse mentioned something about my protein level (I can't recall the exact wording) and mentioned they like to see it between 0-2.5 and mine was 5.
She said not to be startled, but they check it because it can be a sign of pre-term labor and so she asked all the questions: cramping? No. Bleeding? No. Lower back pain? No. Etc...
She said it could be caused by other things other than the preterm labor, like a cold (which I don't have) or a cut or pulled muscle or whatever.
Anyways, of course I turned to doctor goo.gle and I found nothing.
So, I was really hoping y'all would have advice or any information.
I really don't want to worry because worrying doesn't really get me anywhere but...it's so hard not to.
So any advice or information?

Hi, I'm a long time Hilgers patient (and blog lurker :)). They are talking about your CRP level, or C-Reactive Protein level. It measures the level of inflammation in your body, and is commonly used to monitor people with heart conditions. At PPVI they will check it periodically to assess whether you need other meds to prevent preterm labor, specifically antibiotics. Some things you can do to lower general inflammation that might be skewing the test: take fish oil capsules, eliminate sugar/white flour, eliminate or lower your intake of wheat. Congratulations on your little one. You and the baby are in my prayers! God Bless-Renee
Thank you SOOOO much!!! I was at such a lost and you've definitely helped! Man, I love my blogger buddies! :) Thanks again!
You know, I vaguely remember having high protein once or twice early on...it never amounted to anything. Maybe like Renee said, something was skewing the test results.
You need some of my pinned recipes and stay away from yours!!!! LOL
My CRP level was always high. It never caused pre term labor and I never had any problems. Hopefully yours is nothing too. Congrats on your pregnancy! Praise God!
Hahahahahaha!!! Sew, you're crazy! ;)
congratulations on your pregnancy... pin up more recipes...
Registered Nurse Salary in ME
As a pharmacist, I understand this lab result to be very non-specific (i.e. it could mean many different things and not just premature labor). Regardless, I continue to pray for you and this precious little life. Have a great weekend!
Yeah-I did have a sore throat, so maybe that's what was up. Thankfully the nurses didn't seem too concerned, so that's a relief.
Good to know! I'm learning new stuff every day!! Thank you so much for the prayers!!
Thanks for the info...and def thank you for the prayers!!!
